There are plenty of other flooring types for high traffic, commercial areas: Aggregate, Quarry Tiles, Vinyl, Synthetics, Epoxy
Aggregate only lasts so long before the rough surfacing wears down and a slippery surface remains. Before that – difficult cleaning, wear and tear on shoes, discomfort have already set in.
Quarry Tiles CRACK. Grease and water makes them SLIPPERY. Grout becomes DISGUSTING. Not a great choice. Recurring costs are part of a quarry tile installation.
Vinyl, Synthetics and Epoxy separate at the seams, crack and dry out, lose their waterproof properties, don’t hold up well with grease and fat. Again, not a great choice.
